The team at The Body Shop Physical Therapy are exercise forward manual therapists who focus on empowering our patients through communication and understanding. We seek to help clients make sense of their individual pain experience, identify the triggers related to pain, and encourage people toward a healthier lifestyle filled with the activities they love.

How We Treat

  • Therapeutic Exercise

    • Using graded exposure to movement and activities to improve muscular strength, neuromuscular control, and mobility to create more resilient tissues and people

  • Manual Therapy

    • Use of hand-on techniques to promote blood flow and decrease pain response to improve movement and range of motion

    • Spinal manipulation

    • Cupping

    • Instrument assist soft tissue mobilization (IASTM)

  • Functional Dry Needling

    • The use of a thin filament needle inserted into a muscle to treat trigger points or “knots”. This creates a neurophysiological effect on that muscle, decreasing sensation of pain, increasing range of motion, and improving blood flow.

  • Movement Analysis

    • Identifying movement patterns that may be causing or contributing to your pain and disfunction, so that we may correct this to allow you to return to your normal activity level

  • Modalities - Although modalities are a small part of what we may do, they can be helpful in “jump starting” your care by increasing circulation, improving muscle activation, and temporarily reducing your pain so that you may tolerate movement better

    • Ultrasound

    • Trans cutaneous electrical stimulation

    • Neuromuscular electrical stimulation

  • Prehabilitation

I started physical therapy with Kristy as a last resort of nearly 2 years of foot pain. After the first visit I felt like a new person. I think Kristy knows what she’s doing and is an amazing physical therapist. I am so thankful I made that decision to make an appointment. She’s my miracle worker.
